Throughout his career, Lupe Fiasco has been one of the more outspoken rappers in the game. Lupe Fiasco stands out in the current landscape of the rap game, as his lyrics touch on social topics. His strong lyrics about the things impacting the world has led to issues in the past, mainly with his label, Atlantic Records.
Fighting Atlantic Records, Lupe Fiasco eventually won and released his third studio album, Lasers. Immediately after the release of Lasers, Lupe Fiasco began discussing his next album, Food & Liquor II. With his album due in September, Lupe Fiasco has started his promotional run.
After speaking with Jenny Boom Boom and Funkmaster Flex, Lupe Fiasco ended up speaking with Sway Calloway for MTV’s “RapFix Live.” During his interview, Lupe discussed the killings in Chicago. Since the Windy City is his hometown, Lupe Fiasco showed additional sympathy, breaking down during the interview.
